North girls’ soccer celebrates after winning the section championship and advancing to the state tournament.
October 24, 2016
On Tuesday, October 18th, the Lakeville North girls’ soccer team played their section final game against crosstown rivals, Lakeville South. This game had a great deal of importance because it would determine who would be going onto the state tournament.
Although South played good defense, with their goalkeepers stopping multiple shots on goal, the Panthers were able to get through and win the game 2-0.
Temi Carda scored the first goal of the game in the first half with a penalty kick, and Olivia Bruce scored the second goal with only six minutes left in the second half.
With this victory, the girls’ soccer team advances to state tournament. They will play Centennial at 7:30 on Thursday, October 27, at Chisago Lakes.

We were very excited to read that the girls soccer team, the Panthers were going to State! We later read the article that they lost at state, however any team that makes it to state did NOT lose. Making it to state is a great accomplishment and acknowledgement of a teams hard work throughout the season. We are all proud of the Panthers! Way to go girls!!!!!!
